Golfers visiting Palm Springs, CA should plan on playing Mission Lakes Country Club (MLCC). The course is in amazing condition and the greens are FAST! The course features a shot-gun start weekdays at 12:30 p.m. and the pace allows you to finish 18. Look for a coupon in the local paper.
I plan to play this course one more time before I leave, because it is in such great shape, pace of play and beautiful views. Especially from holes 10-12 which are across the road and winds up into the foothills to really fun par 3 where the tees are 200 feet above the green, and a spectacular view of the valley. Watch out for rattle snakes in the summer. The other 15 holes are surrounded by the community but are open and straight forward. The fairways are lush, and did I mention the greens are “FAST”.
We had perfect playing conditions a cool breeze and sunshine. I played with my new-found Canadian friends and we had a great round.
The 18-hole course is located in Desert Hot Springs, California nestled up against the foothills. It is long for woman 5,473 yards and a par 72; 6,358 from the whites and 6,710 from tips for a par of 71. Opened in 1971 the course is designed by Ted Robinson, ASGCA.
Looks like great fun! I love Palm Springs. Have you walked around the cool mid-century neighborhoods and checked out the Parker hotel? When we were there last year they had a night out where lots of cool vendors are selling from booths along the main street downtown==it was great people watching.
Miss you!
