There is a HUGE difference between a campground and an RV Resort. An RV Resort is a parking lot with a swimming pool. A campground is beautiful with trees and large sites, hopefully apart from other campers.
I arrived at Port Saint Lucie RV Resort in mid-November and I will be in Florida for the winter. Yes, I dislike the Florida politics, but I enjoy walking on the beach and playing golf in shorts.
I spent over two weeks with sister Becky and brother-in-law Chuck while Scout was getting “supposedly” repaired. Like home ownership, there is alway something. I am so very grateful for Chuck and Becky’s hospitality, they even let me win at Ticket to Ride, once.
But water is not a friend to homeowners or RVers. The leak, supposedly repaired in Colfax, NC, has reappeared. So back to DIY YouTube videos. I replaced the Moen 1222 shower cartridge six months ago, and did it again. Nope, the problem persists. The shower drips.
My Alaska pal Deb gave me an excuse to turn off the water and visit her in “The Villages” near Ococola, FL. Deb cooked us a lovely Thanksgiving dinner complete with stuffing, dressing, cranberry sauce, and yams, YUM.
I have signed up for another golf course hosting gig in April and May 2024. This time at Hard Labor Creek State Campground and golf course (doncha love the name?) It is beautiful, lots of trees and less ants and nats.
“The Creek at Hard Labor is known for its challenging layout in a pristine, natural setting. Featuring Champion Bermuda greens and narrow tree-lined fairways, The Creek was named “4th sweetest deal in USA” by Golf Digest Frugal Golfer in 2010,”according to the website.
Unlike last year at Brazzel Creek in June and July, Hard Labor is near Athens, GA and at a higher elevation so it will be cooler, I hope. June and July in Georgia, nope.
In Florida, Maggie and I go to Walton Rocks daily for a nice walk on the beach, and Walton Rocks is dog friendly. I carry a small bucket to pick up plastic. We love the beach, come join us.
More to come, stay tuned.
