Airstreamers’ like to visit each other and show off their Airstream’s. The Airstream is the iconic American travel trailer. We flash our headlights at each other when we see an Airstream in the oncoming lane.
It never occurred to me to buy anything but an Airstream when I first envisioned of my Road2Reinvention. The history of Airstream and Wally Baum is interesting, and a classic American story. So, leave it to Airstreamers’ to add little plastic Flamingos to the story.
You’ve been Flamingo’d is a new fad among Airstreamers. In Ashville KOA, a nice couple with a very new Airstream gave me a cute LED Flamingo. It’s fun to leave a little pink bird with a tag. Which brings me to another essential for full-time RVer’s, a greeting card, like a business care, but better. Sharing with the great people we meet in campgrounds and RV Resorts. I have made so many great new friends from my campground experiences. That is why a greeting card is a must.
WATER DAMAGE UPDATE
Great news! Insurance is going to cover the water damage. In my previous blog I mentioned I have had a major water leak and the subfloor now squishy, not a good thing. Our roads and bridges horrible and living in a travel trailer is a lot of wear and tear. Think of it like this, your house experiencing a major earthquake daily. No wonder a pipe may have broken.
Thanks, Mr. President for the infrastructure investment — Shake, rattle, and roll. Especially in the South. Go figure?
The Progressive adjuster came the other day and I have an appointment for repairs at the Airstream dealer in Orlando, February 1. This is a big repair job, requiring removal of all the lower cabinets, because the linoleum and subfloor run under the cabinets.
This also means all my personal possessions will need to come out. I have rented a storage unit to move my personal belongings into. Good news sister Kerry is coming to visit, so we’ll share a hotel room while Scot is being repaired. Good timing on Kerry’s part, thanks sis.
Scout will be a whole new trailer when repairs are completed, so my Road2Reinvention may continue.
Stay tuned.
