FEELS LIKE HOME, AGAIN.

I love my adpoted hometown Washington, the District of Columbia (D.C.). I moved to D.C. in 1999 from Anchorage, Alaska via four plus years in Carson City, Nevada. Anchorage is a town, and Carson City is a wide spot in the road. D.C. is a city. I love cities with neighborhoods, parks, sidewalks, cafes, history and museums. I have spent the last six year in an Airstream trailer living in campgrounds or RV resorts (aka parking lots with swimming pools). Far from downtowns. It’s been great to be back in D.C., catching up with friends and former colleagues, going to Congressional Cemetery and being home again.

Washington, D.C. is not only the U.S. Capitol, but also it is the world’s capitol. People come from all over the world come to stand in our capitol and take pictures on the National Mall. The best part of D.C. is you don’t need or want a car. The traffic is awful, and parking is even worse. Zip Cars, City Bikes, scooters, Uber & Lyft, not to mention the METRO, buses and the H Street Car.

Thanks to my good pals my Toyota Tundra is parked in Tim’s airplane hangar (since the Mooney is undergoing repairs), and Scout (the Airstream) is parked in Dave’s back yard.

Scout and Tin Man outstanding the field.

I am extremely fortunate to have so many friends who offer me accomodations in D.C. Thanks Ann, Dave & Annie, Jamie, Margarita, Madeleine and Norman and especially Tim.

Maggie is really happy to be with her BFF Lola. We have tried to get to Congressional Cemetery everyday for off leash walking and a bit of swimming in the pond.

I go to Virginia Beach on September 1, for two months of campground hosting at First Landing Campground. Please take a road trip and come visit. The beach should be great!

Watch Lola see Maggie for the first time in a year.

Hope to see you.

This is also a test of my new plug-in that sends recent posts. Please let me know you received this post my adding a reply. Fingers crossed!
